ABOUT

Elizabeth Maroney is a native New Yorker and devoted Brooklynite. Since the age of four, she has expressed a deep passion for art and has pursued a life long dream of becoming a successful artist and educator. Elizabeth is a graduate of Long Island University, with a BFA in fine arts, a minor in Psychology as well as an MA in Graphic design. Where she received the Jerry Dantzic award for excellence in photography.

After graduating she proceeded onto a fast-paced career path, in design and administration. All the while serving as a youth mentor for non-profit organizations such as Groundswell Community Mural Project and New Urban Arts. While volunteering with these organizations, she taught fine art to a number of underprivileged students in public schools throughout Brooklyn. She participated in various public mural projects addressing the concerns and issues faced in New York City's communities. That eventually led to a three-year partnership with a progressive technology education program and positions as senior instructor, event manager, and youth program coordinator. It was in this capacity that has led her to a fierce commitment to leading a creative multidisciplinary educational program that can be accessible to Brooklyn's children and families.
